Passion vs. Greed

Too often we’re urged to boost our online income by leaps and bounds, only realizing that we’re not even progressing towards our target.

Mistakes and intuition-driven emotions are the main causes of this anomaly.

A common logic-error we make is “If one blog earns $1 a day, therefore, 100 blogs earns you $100 a day!”.

The problem with this is obviously the mind boggling number of blogs you have to maintain! It is virtually impossible to find the time and energy to maintain all of them!

If somehow you could find the time to maintain those 100 blogs, it still doesn’t transpose $1/day per blog to $100/day from 100 blogs! You probably don’t have the knowledge in fields that you diversify into.

This is where passion comes in. Write about something you love, even if it’s something uncommon. By doing so, you are creating a quality blog, instead of splog-like blog entries.

Visitors will automatically trickle in as time goes by. You may, however, give some initial boost to your blog by word of mouth advertisement, or even the fundamental activity of exchanging links.

Passion obviously wins over greed.

Don’t let greed take control of you.

Focus on your interest, and success will soon to follow.

There was a remarkable reduction in visitors, and it should be an obvious effect since I’ve neglected this blog for about 2 months!

I was busy getting used to my college schedule and stuffs.. so it was kinda hectic. Anyway, I’ll continue blogging from now on >:3

Google Clarifies Adsense Policy

In a previous post, I talked about a way to increase your Google Adsense CTR. In a nutshell, I talked about how placing images near Adsense ad blocks can help increase its visibility, and thus reducing “ad-blindness”.

However, we faced some issues with the Adsense policy, specifically, the issue on whether images are allowed to be placed near Google ads. I’ve recently contacted Google and inquired them on this matter. I discussed about their reply in this post and this post. Basically, what they said in their reply was the pictures should not “appear to be associated with the advertisers and their products/services”.

Google has finally decided to shed some light on this issue, which they have previously said the issue was on a “case to case” basis.

The Act of God

A loud spark woke me up from my deep slumber at approximately 2 p.m 2 weeks ago.

To my horror, my ADSL router had been zapped by lightning. This could only mean one thing: I won’t be able to go online!!

I’m sort of an online addict and I’ll be online whenever I’m near a computer (provided if it has an internet access :P).

After weeks of bugging my dad to buy a new ADSL router, the day finally arrived yesterday. Procrastination is the cause of the hiatus on this blog. The modem is a sucky Lantech AR-2000, which sounds fairly stupid.

On another note, my exams are coming soon (that is, in less than a month). I will not be able to post as often as I had before.

I was rather busy becoming a photographer for my mom’s kindergarten last week. I’ll also be taking photographs for another event tomorrow.
