Google has recently announced that they are now launching the Google Blog Search Pinging Service.


What’s so fun about pinging Google?

When you ping Google, they will know that your content has changed, and will appropriately index you in their blog search! Google has provided a rather complete FAQ about their pinging service.

How do I ping Google when I post a blog post in WordPress?

All you have to do is go to your WordPress admin control panel, then click on the “Options” tab, and then click on the “Writing” sub-tab. There should be a large text-box at the bottom of the page. Just insert http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2 on a new line, and update your options!

Note: The more pinging services you include, the longer you need to wait to publish a blog post.
